The 2019 Goal

16/01/2019

As I wrote on the site’s homepage, my plan for this year is to try and post every single of the year or, at the very least, have 365 posts up by January 1st 2020. I lapsed a couple of days ago, if anyone noticed, so ‘a post a day’ is gone – but I’m happy with what has happened so far.

The reason I did not post is because I have a friend visiting and have been doing things with her. I use that as an excuse, but it was still slack of me to not write anything at all. That being said, however, I have so far, in 16 days, posted 21 pieces (including today and this post). Already in this short time I have posted enough to give myself a little leniency if I happen to miss a day occasionally, and the traffic on the site in that time has already surpassed that of the previous four months totals (I exclude a number of the October views as one post received more attention, which, while nice, is not ‘natural’ audience growth but one I shared to a wider audience once).

So, without boring anyone with the numbers, it’ll suffice to say that the traffic predictions for this year are looking great – I honestly consider anyone who reads anything here to be a bonus. Hopefully the number of days I do not post will be minimal, but as I said when I first put this idea forward I can’t make any promises. Regardless, a minimum of 365 posts will definitely be in this space by year’s end, and that is something I plan to dedicate myself too. If I don’t succeed, well, it doesn’t affect you at all, but it’ll be personally disappointing, to say the least.

I would also like to use this post as a request for feedback or ideas, if anyone wishes to give any. No obligation to do so, but if you want me to write about something in particular, or think I could change something about the site, etc. then feel free to contact me or comment.
